Default Christmas/New Year traditions?

This the same as a post on fishing, but works for hunters, too.
I'd like to do a feature about any unusual traditions out there on Christmas morning...or during the season, including New Year's day or eve.
Anyone take Santa out duck hunting (maybe Santa should bring the ducks)? visit a favorite spot of someone who passed away? Decorate their duck club? Please send me an email or call at the office at 503-221-8231. Those of you out of town can call toll-free to 888-222-8231. If I get enough, I can do a collage, or if just a few, pick one and call.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

A few years ago, I purchased some super mag goose shell decoys from Herter's. They arrived by UPS a couple weeks before Christmas, but after we had put our tree up. I took a couple out of the boxes and set them on top of the boxes before I left work. When I came home, my wife had taken a couple of them, tied red and gold ribbons around their necks and put them under tree for decoration. Since then, every year after our Christmas tree goes up, I end up hunting with two fewer goose shells.

BTW - my wife initially did that because she was mad at me for buying stuff for myself just before Christmas. She was also tired of looking at my decoys in the living room. I don't understand the problem.

funny how traditions get started....That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

ORS

Yeah, I've got one. Nearly every New Year's day, I've got the day off, the Steelhead are running, and I realize I haven't bought my new hunting license.

Pretty pathetic, but it does fall into the "tradition" category...

Okay,

Every New Years day, rather than getting up in the pre dawn and freezing my A$$ off in the drift boat, I stay home with a hang over!
Then, I go steelheading the next day!

ttt one last time...anyone going to sit under a sagebrush somewhere waiting for reginald the red-nosed coy-dog to fill their stocking? Duck hunters all believe in Santa Claus this year...they have to. Any others out there?
