Went out to Sauvie Friday morn. My buddy, Kevin, pulled #12 chip, Eric J.,another friend right behind us drew #11!
Eric decided to go to Mud Lake #2, Kevin, Andy, and I ML #3.
There was NO action for us by the time Andy had to leave at 9:15. A little bit of action for some other Blinds, #1 & #2.
About 20 minutes later there was a flurry of birds working from about 9:40 until ~11.
If it hadn't been for those *#$%~@# guys on #1 Skybusting at EVERYTHING in the air we on the other blinds, #2, #3, #4, would have done MUCH better! So would the guys on #1..if they'd just WAITED and let the birds work in to them!
There were about 6-7 time when we had birds working in towards us and 2 times we had flocks of Mallards "cupped and commited", about 3 seconds from us being able to open up on them (at ~20-25 yd.s) when those turkeys shot!

I'd look over and there'd be a duck, about 70 yards above them, that they'd decided to take a "swipe" at! IMHO it was impossible for them NOT to see birds "working" and coming right in to our decoys! This happened to Eric on Blind #2 also!
Why some hunters have to engage in such thoughtless behavior is beyond me.
There was very little shooting from the high number side of Mud Lake...in the early afternoon it seemed the birds preferred heading over there. I don't know if there wasn't anybody still over there or not, but there wasn't much shooting. A little shooting coming from behind there, Seal Lake or maybe Big Martins?
In any case Kevin and I scratched down 9 ducks IN SPITE OF the Clowns...5 Mallards 3 Widgeon and 1 Sprig.
Shudda/wudd/cudda been 13 Mallards and 1 Sprig if the birds were allowed to work! Oh well...
