Default I made a stupid mistake

What a dummy I am! I took all my guns out of the safe at once and my wife saw just how many I have.

Don't try this at home!

Have you lost your Mind!

This is like laying all of the fishing gear out on the living room floor to clean it all and you make a comment about needing to buy another Halibut reel and rod.

Not good! But hey, compare that to the number of clothes in her closet, and how many pair of shoes, and you might break even! At least at my house anyways....

Thats a Big No NO. Please tell us you didn't tell her how much they all REALLY cost! I made that mistake once when I was asked how much $ in lures one of my boxes of Tuna jigs had in it.

I've been put on the "you can buy one after you get rid of one" program. I've found that this has worked pretty well in my favor though. I give away one worn out Mossberg, I buy one classic Winchester. I sell one inexpensive pump shotgun, I buy one vintage Parker. I'm not sure what I'll do when I run out of the cheap guns though...

The question is, "why?" Were you applying safe wax to the inside to prolong its life? What would possess you to empty the entire thing at once?

The safe (and everything else) has been in the garage since I tore down half my house last June for an addition. When I moved them back inside the temperature difference caused a lot of condensation. I needed to let the temperature of the guns and the safe normalize and moisture dry.

This was almost as bad as the time I got busted sneaking a new Marlin guide gun into the house. Hey, it worked on the AR-15 . . . I threw myself on the mercy of the court and pleaded temporary insanity.

No way! There is only one that I told her about (class III) for $1000. Other than that she has no clue. The other stuff (scopes, laser grips, etc) really add up but are much less visible.

I have also learned to pay cash whenever possible for things she doesn't like (cigars, guns)
