Antique fly gear?
My daughter brought a fly rod up from Cal. with her this weekend. A friend of hers was cleaning out his deceased grandfathers belongings and came across it. It is a black octagon 3 piece fly rod with two tips. It also has a "bass" rod tip. The handle reverses to accomodate fly reel or casting reel. It is all packed in a neat wooden case with sliding wood panel campartments for storing fly gear. I know it is old because the flys that came with it were stuck in paper sheets that nearly disintigrated when I touched it. The only label I can find is Made in Japan.
Kind of a cool old piece and will probably get hung on the wall with a display of the flies. Proably 50-60 of those.
Anybody know a site to search for information on these and how to determine the value?
I'd post pictures but my digital is toast. May have a new one for Christmas.
