We all know they won't get the maximum, either in fines or jail time, but wouldn't it be nice if they had to pay for each bird, then spend a day doing cleanup along the highways and rivers for each bird they killed and dumped. If that cleanup time was on their weekends, that would even be better.

Let's see, 49 birds = 49 days = 24 weekends. Maybe Saturday doing cleanup and Sunday in the slammer thinking about it.

Probably could train 'em not to do that anymore.

PS. That Grant McOmie guy is turning into a hero of mine. I intend to figure out a way to tell him thanks!

At best they will get small fine, and community service and un-supervised bench probation. trust me I know the system all too well. It is a tragedy and people like this should never be able to bear arms, or hunt or fish for the rest of their lives.

The only thing that could get them a stiffer punishment is that it was so well covered by the news !! KUDOS for them

Law abiding hunters never seem to get good press.

I'd sure like to hear "The Rest of the Story". 49 mostly Westerns, had to be in a park, closed area, trailer court etc...Dontcha think?
