Default Last day of Elk season!

After a couple of great hunts for deer and birds our expectations were pretty high for our cow elk season.

Ted and I hunted for 4 days, watched 4 big bulls run out of the brush and up a open hillside. Saw alot of nice bucks in the rut, one monster buck that should be on a calender or cover of a magazine. But unable to find a cow elk, they were everywhere during deer season but did some serious hidding during this late cow hunt.

With sore knees and little hope left we got lucky and found a small group of elk on Sunday morning.

Here are a couple pictures,

Looking forward to next years hunts! -Steve

Picture was taken from just outside the old garage the elk were hanging in on my friends ranch.

You were all pretty close, halfway between Ukiah and Baker, and halfway between LaGrande and Elgin.
