It might be worth a call or email to the ODFW and see if there are any "game wasting violations"

Bet they took it home rather than "threw it out." Threaten a lawsuit if they don't replace it. I bet they will miraculously come up with some.

Last winter I was in recovery from a surgery and couldnt hunt waterfoul.
This year is starting off to be a good one I have already taken a good bunch of Geese .
Two winters ago I was having a good season on geese as well. I had taken about 30 birds and been saving the breasts for a big batch of jerkey.
I had taken my birds to a lacal butcher in past years and he did a great job on it .
This time was different. Right after I took the breasts in(25 birds worth) I had a very awful accident with my 8-9 year old brittny, and lost her in a Beaver pond. I was so crushed that I forgot about the goose meat for about 3-5 weeks.
When I remembered that I needed to pick up my jerkey I called the shop and was told that they had thrown them out because I haddnt called or come to pick it up soon enough. I just about passed out. You waterfoul hunters know how hard you work to kill 25 greater northern Canada geese.Many days and many hours .
I am home each night , I work at a local school and Im not at all hard to contact. They obviously hadnt tried to call. I was so stunned that I hung up and never went back.
What is the legal aspect of this ? Im still so dang angry i could spit. Im taking this years batch to a different smoke house.
I thought it was illegal to do that . id. painter

Sooooo, are you going to let us all know which shop to avoid??? Or are you just going to use it as a threat??? Keep us informed. And let them know that a boycott by a bunch of potential customers might hurt them as bad as it hurt you.

The meat shop is here in Pocatello . I went the other day and told the owner about what had happened he acted like he cared and told me to bring in a batch of meat and he would do it for free.small consolation in my mind.
I still dont think that is enough of a pay back.
You all know how long and hard a guy works to kill 25 greater Canada Geese .
I had about 15 birds worth of meat saved up at the time ,, so I spent the weekend getting as many as I could to add to the pile. I took in about 25 birds worth,,, The owner said he would personally oversee this batch.
I was told it would be done that next week. It is now a week later than what I was told , I called two different days and was told the same thing, that it was soaking now, and it would be done by this thursday.We shall see.
The co. name is Delmonte Meats. I still dont feel compensated for the last batch. id. p.
