Crack o dawn cow hunt??

I'm debating whether I should attempt to hook into my first winter tomorrow or head for the hills and do some early morning tracking in the snow. Has anybody been having luck getting on to animals? Snow hunting is great and as soon as the season is over I'll be regretting not spending more time in the woods!!
