Re: BIG bird in the feeder - cool pic
You know how they tell you to hang your food from a tree when you go camping? I guess mother nature will find a way.....

Re: BIG bird - whole sequence - More cool pics
I'm not a hunter, but having tasted bear jerky, two words come to mind,... "BAM" and "THUD" (in that order).

Not my pics...just emailed to me and thought they were cool.
Could be a photoshop, but would rather think not.

Re: BIG bird - whole sequence - More cool pics
I've seen the bears in Yosemite do just that to my back pack hanging between two trees. Them bears have degrees in mechanical engineering and really know how to get to and into someones backback. Only once did we completely foil the bears. Deluth bags 5 feet under water - they knew they were there just didn't know what they were.

Re: BIG bird in the feeder - cool pic
And I thought the Starlings were bad!!
I wish I could get pics of it, but my bird feeder does double duty. The tweetys eat the seed, and the Sharpshin eats the tweetys! Have about had my head taken off by a small, VERY fast, hawk a few times now. Always on the fast track to the finches at the feeder.
