I don't have any answers for you, but I've got about 50000 or so from the late 70's to the early 90's, with several complete sets. Please post information on what you end up doing, and how it went for you.

During the years you mentioned the market was really flooded with cards. most likely the cards you mentioned are probably worthless unless you have a certain players rookie card.

Go down and spend a few bucks and buy a Becketts price guide. Most card shop will have old copies laying around that you can get for practically nothing. This will get you close enough as most of those cards will have little or no fluctuation.

If the book says Joe Blows card is worth say $4, you will probably never get $4 for it. You would be lucky to get .25 for it.

Your best option is to donate them to the local Boys/Girls Club or to the Goodwill and take the tax deduction. This is a much simpler way to deal with the mass produced cards. I donated probably 100,000 cards a couple years ago to both organizations.

Also, since it's not baseball season, you have that going against you.

gettin fishy...
I would go through and save every Noland Ryan card you have and Cal ripkin. Now you say you have late 80,s make sure you dont have early 80,s you have in there Cal ripkin rookie, and I think it is Tops that had his AA Team Card there were very few but they are there, value of that card is approx $4,500. Also there were some misplelled Mark McGwire cards, they spelled the name (Mark McGuire). They also bring much money, mainly because there were not many printed. I would keep any and all Randy Johnson cards. there were some rare ones there also. When Randy goes into the hall of fame all cards go up in price. and if you happen to get lucky and have one of those boys sign the card make sure they sign it on the back. Put them up and keep them for your sons or daughters. I was into that big time but got out, I just kept my high dollar cards.

I have complete sets for 53 54 55 56 and 57plus about 60 pkgs from those yrs still in the pkg(gum prob stale) I have tried ebay but not much luck for full price although the right ones do a little better. Card shops drool but they don't want to buy them as they are harder to turn over for a profit than the newer ones
