Default Sluiced

Hello All,
I'm kinda new to this that I'm usually just reading and not posting but I had some pics and a story that I thought would be fun to share. Here are a some pics of a buck a couple of buddies took yesturday while we were in the Willamette unit. This was kind of different in that it was the last place you'd expected to find a buck. It was bedded and appeared to literally be living in this swamp. There were several bedding sites at the bases of several big trees in the swamp.I'm going to need some help as to how to get the pics on here.

Go ahead and ask for help or go to the general living page, there is a tutorial on how to post pictures there, pinned near the top.

OK... That is "real" hunting. One could say went for ducks and took a buck.

Thanks for the story and photos. It's interesting how those Willamette deer are often so much smaller in body than blacktails in other Oregon areas.

Alsea Unit seems to have the smallest bodied deer I have seem/taken.

Again great photos.

I didn't notice that at first, yep even though it is soaked, that is a smaller body, for such a nice set of horns. Interesting. Hey guys if you still have the heart, do a body score on your animal. I will bring it back up.

It was a small bodied animal and the neck was no longer swollen ( can only assume it had been ). Not sure if we kept the heart RA but I will check with the tagger. The liver looked healthy though small. What really looked funny SteveB is 3 of us are packing bows and the 4th a rifle! It's amazing all the combinations that are going on during the late seasons. If I'm driving by and I see us walking back to the truck I'm thinking to myself..what a bunch of clowns!

It was a bow(s), both guys holding the buck had arrows in him. The rifle hunter and I were pushing timber working our way back to the rig.

Great! That sure does look wet! You should have had one guy with a shotgun and then you would have had all the bases covered!

The way it was raining up there Thursday and Friday, I think all the flat ground was probably a swamp.

Nice one!

My wife thinks that I buy too much hunting equipment as it is. I can just see the look on her face if I told her that I needed to buy chest waders to hunt deer.

Good job guys! It seems like a lot of good sized deer come out of the Willamette unit every year.
