Default magnum bobbins

Don't post here much, but thought I'd give this a shot.

Looking to purchase a bobbin that will accommodate a larger thread spool (1-7/16 dia X 1-7/8 wide). FYI this is a standard sewing thread spool size commonly sold at any fabric store.

Since most bobbins are made of wire a standard one will probably work if you stretch it out to get the desired tension on the spool, I always have to adjust mine to get the desired tension anyway.

what he said...Alot of the wire bobbins I have will stretch to accomodate that thread size...I know for sure because I use those large spools from time to time.

Go to River city and look at the inexpensive wire bobbins, they should be around $5 and they will accomodate that size spool. I bought mine at sportsmans, but I'm sure that stew will check the river city stuff.

Which dark side would that be?

Hope I don't burst any bubbles on this board, but the only reason I'm even looking for a magnum bobbin is to dispense clear nylon sewing thread for wrapping Kwikfish.

I use only the Norlander "automatic bobbin" for serious flytying.
