anytime i as a sportsman see the opportunity to voice my belief in the need for more wilderness designations, and more roadless areas being created in areas already logged, this is one i agree should happen in the mount hood national forest.just make sure sportsmen alway have a way to access these areas. to block access is not what any sportsman wants. we want common sense access into these areas, unlike the un-common sense that went into the hatpoint area road closure in the hells canyon wilderness---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------this what i just sent to greg walden---------------------------------------------------------------------------and this is the response i got----------------------------------Subj: Re: new wilderness in oregon

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail me. I appreciate learning your
thoughts and opinions and I make it a priority to respond to the
individual concerns of constituents of the Second Congressional District
of Oregon as soon as possible. This is an automatic response that is sent
to you immediately after you send e-mail to me. I will not receive the
e-mail you sent if you do not follow the new step outlined below.
My ability to correspond with Oregonians in a timely manner is of critical
importance to me, and a great way for me to keep posted on what's
important to you. The past few months, however, have posed a difficult
challenge in keeping up with e-mails from residents of Oregon's Second
Congressional District as my e-mail inbox has been clogged by massive
amounts of unsolicited commercial (SPAM) e-mails - hundreds of these
e-mails every week - that take time away from the important duty of
reading your comments and responding to you.
In an effort to serve you better in this regard, I have implemented a new
e-mail system to help ensure that I get to read your e-mail and opinions
before SPAM and e-mails from non-Oregonians. From now on you can reach my
Congressional e-mail account by visiting my web page at
http://walden.house.gov/ and clicking "Contact Me". I apologize for the
inconvenience, but please re-send your e-mail to me by clicking on the
above link and following this new procedure. This is the only way I can
ensure that I will be able to read and respond to e-mails sent by
residents of Oregon's Second Congressional District. I appreciate your
patience during this beneficial transition period.
If you have problems accessing the web page or if you prefer to speak with
someone directly, a member of my staff would be happy to talk with you.
If you have a legislative issue you would like to discuss, you can call my
Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-6730. Or, if your inquiry concerns an
issue with a federal agency, (Social Security Administration, Department
of Veterans Affairs, etc.) please call my Medford district office at
800-533-3303 (toll free from the 541 area code) or 541-776-4646. My
office in Medford will be able to transfer you to my office in Bend if
needed.
Again, thank you for taking the time to e-mail me. I appreciate your
patience and understanding, and I will reply as soon as possible. It's an
honor to represent you in Congress.
Best regards,
GREG WALDEN
Member of Congress
Second Congressional District of Oregon
