Default Whistler B.C.

I'm heading to Whistler BC in February for my honeymoon.
Can anyone recommend a rustic, lodgy type of place to stay?
Some of the resort pictures remind me too much of the Pearl District, not a ski resort. Please help, I need to decide soon.

Thanks

Hey, I got married there. But the lodge we all stayed in was HUGE. A craftsamans villa South of the ski resorts.

The lodge itself was unbelievable. It, and all the cabins were meticulously crafted by old world craftsmen...barrel ceilings of beadboard...hand carved doors with ships portal windows...a 4 wall wine rack in the basement all scribed to the natural stone!
what a place.

For the life of me I cant recall the name of the place...Ill try to dig up some info and get back to you. My xwifes family leased the entire place but Im sure each cabin rents separately.

I would suggest looking at Whistler Creekside. It is not as large as Whistler Village and a couple miles closer to Vancouver. You can ride the chair from Creekside up the Mt., and then pop over the top and ski all of Whistler/Blackcomb. TONS of runs... Whistler Village is a bit to big and "toursity" for my taste. And it seems to always be over run with college students. Creekside is a lot more laid back. Finding a quaint lodge will be difficult though. Just get a nice condo for the honeymoon and realize you might hear your neighbors... My wife and I have stay in Whistler Village the past two winters. Both were late Feb. 2003 the skiing was great. 2004, it was really icy.
