Where are the elk at? I went up to the trask today and didnt see anything. Hiked in and up 7miles said the GPS and saw sign but no luck finding the elk. Didnt even spook any talked to a few hunters and they didnt see any either, no shots heard either. Went up for a scouting look for an evening hunt up north of North Plains and saw way too many people, so i called it an early night. PM me if you know of any spots.
About a mile down from donaldsons on the wilson river we saw 9 cows and a spike on the bank today, I shot at them with my finger but missed I guess. they were gettting ready to cross but changed their minds when they saw the drift boat coming at them. I wished I hadnt bought a 1st season elk tag.
kid - we were out saturday. i got sicker than a dog friday night and that prevented me from hunting has hard as i would have liked and kept me home today..so no luck with Elk. found a few spots where they USED to be, but not where they were.
saturday was nothing but a barrage of gunfire. target shooting variety that is. rounds were flying everyhwere..i guess everyone had some spare .223/7.62x39 ammo and a few 20 round clips. cuz' they were melting barrels.
i'll be out friday..hopefully things will be better then. (mainly me. lol.)
