Default Goose hunting near Corvallis??

I am in Corvallis for school and I was wondering if anyone has any idea where a guy could go do some goose hunting in the area. I have looked over EE wilson for duck hunting but I don't want to get in anyones way.
If anybody could point me in the right direction as far as who to talk to or where I could go I would appreciate that.

Contact Willamette River Outlaw.

He's going to OSU and needs help carrying decoys.

Check the regs and see if you can still get a NW Goose Permit card this year. Without that you're out of luck.
Lots of private land opportunities if you arent afraid to knock on doors.

I just graduated from OSU last spring and went through the same thing you're going through right now. Lots of great area for hunting around, but ya just can't figure out where. Private land is the best way to go if you can get access, hands down. You have other options though if that's not your thing. Get yourself a Willamette River Recreation Guide. Look for areas in the Willamette River Greenway and find the ones near you that hunting is allowed. That will get you started. You can also talk to the ODFW department down there. I did that also and it helped a lot with some of the questions I had. By the way, do you have a small boat or kayak or access to one? If so, that will open up more opportunities.

Oh yeah, you probably have your goose card, but they offer the test at the Corvallis Library (I think it's on 6th and Monroe St.) occasionally.

I am covered on the goose permit, had it for a while now. Simple test compared to modern physics and Dyanamics of electromechanical energy conversion!
I usually hunt up by home (Mt. Angel) but I have spent the last seven years in Corvallis at school(MSEE)and I see all of the geese around the area and every year I tell myself I will find out where to hunt but I never do. SO I decided I would do something this year finally.
Thanks for all of the info. I will get ahold of the ODFW and see what they say. Keep up the suggestions.

Thanks

It's slim pickings around Corvallis. Not only do you have to find a place to hunt, the geese have to be using the area. Just start looking around for public land along the river or make some friends that have private property. Good luck. ~ColumbiaKid
