Default Rattling question

With all the talk about rattling for blacktails I decided to give it a try this year. Yesterday I call in a deer that came tearing through an alder thicket towards me, head down, and stopped about 15 yards away in a thicket. I thought for sure it had to be a buck, but unless it was a real small spike it appeared to be a doe. Is it normal to have a doe come rushing in like that? I have had several deer come in and all have appeared to be does. I have been mixing in some deep grunts so I figure maybe the does were coming in looking for a buck to mate. Every one only talks about bucks coming in so I was wondering if I am missing the spikes or if it is normal for does to come in. Thanks.

My rattling career has only brought me one deer so far, but I'm pretty sure it was a doe. She came in on my backtrail, and snuck off as soon as I went back to check it- but if it had antlers, they weren't very big. Anyway, seems I've heard of it happening before, this time of year, all deer are looking for some action. TOC.

Think of it this way. When there was a fight on the playground when you were a kid it wasn't just the boys that ran up to watch it was everybody. Thats how knight and hale described it.
