Default David's latest...

I love this! Written by David B. Martin--
I wonder what he really thinks?
What is it about? Remember those days when your brain went this fast? I do... but it's a faded memory. Now, I suffer from hereafter disease... you know, "What am I here after?"

Jen
---------------------------------------

Sensational, spectacular, stylized, uncompromised,
expendable, contemptible, unique yet industrialized.
The one, the only, the single splendid superior,
The latest, the greatest, yet, somehow, still inferior.
Contracted, subtracted, let out do dry,
empty, flat and hollow, caught up in the by and by.
No past, no future, no want, no need, no nothin',
no reason, no treason, but always sour with somethin'!
It's always squeaky, it's always clean,
and now and again it's quite obscene.
A flash, a splash and in starts the music,
The images, the magic, it all happens quick quick quick!
Blink and you'll miss it, buy and you'll please it,
Try to dismiss it, you'll only increase it.
Desensitized, devitalized, everything is violized,
for 39-95, you can learn to subsidize!
All-American, low fat, high in protein, must be 18,
results may vary, don't be a fairy; buy the product on your screen!
Why wait? Act now! It'll all be over soon!
Give us all your worldly things and enter in your tomb

Sounds like the boy's a pretty smart cookie. Pretty interesting and creative comment on consumerism/materialism. Good job David!

That's great David, you could give George Carlin a run for the money anytime. Bring on somemore.

Reminds me of my writings in the '60's', what I remember of the '60's' that is.

Good work David.

I just don't understand the "enter in your tomb" thing, Dave... but it does rhyme!

Jen that is great and I think the last two lines are the best. Don't wait Act now.. We can not wait for it to happen we must act now and get it done or it won't get done.

The last line is exciting to me in that we spend lots of time on things and not enough on us. Things will be given up... The spiritual life we take to the tomb is all we have left. Things don't matter.

Papa

At least that is what it means to me. I don’t know what it means to David, However this brief look at this fine young man tells me you have done a great job. Mom you’re the best.

That sounds alot like one of George Carlin's rants? Minus the F-bombs of course!
