Default Celebrity Coastal Chrome & Carcasses! (PICS)

I met up with the imfamous Philomath Tony Davis founder and owner of Kodiak Custom Tackle to drown our sorrows in search of rising water steelhead yesterday on the coast.

My first fish was caught on shrimp and float and as we where staging the picture and handling the small bright hen, she escaped a photo before being released.

Here is tony's first, a nice rerun.

Close up of Tony's first.

Here is Tony's second fish, she didn't fight real hard, boy is she bright! Ok, well maybe we just found here and didn't catch her. This is roughly a 34" spawned out hen that had no taggs or marks other than the adipose clip.
So, for all of u that wonder if hatchery fish spawn in the wild, here is a good example of what we don't want to happen.

Never fished with Tonys spinners. His pal Chad brought some in to work a few years ago, but thats the last I've seen of them. Where are they for sale?

Ty,
Did that first fish of Tony's have an opercle punch too? I caught two yesterday that had it. Hatchery guys say they're doing it to see how many of the broodstock return next year. Nice fish..Except for that hen

Ty,
They told me it will look like a small dimple, kinda like a bad pimple scar. One of the bucks that I released was about 31", man if he comes back next year he's gonna give someone a good tussle.

Thanks Twitchs,

Hopefully those marks are visiable. I would love to see the return rates. I think return rates to the hatchery vrs return rates to natal and other rivers are very different. I would bet that the survival rates we are seeing right now are even higher than reported!

Tony showed me the "World record...or not?" video while he was laid up with the busted tendon. We watched it in the Corvallis nursing home with donny boy while he was recovering from his bump on the head.
