Thank you Spazz. I'm in front of the puter today instead of being on the water. There is a bad bug going around and he made a stop at my house. I'll be reading throughout the day so thanks again for the reports. jr sherwood.

My son and I fished yesterday...I,m working today. :depressed: Between us we caught 38 shakers, with most being 3-footers. The boat next to us in the "sweet" spot caght more smaller shakers but did tag 2 keepers. This was in the lower middle Mult. channel. Old smelt and pickeled squid did equally well. I am hoping to fish again tomorrow. Good luck all.

Just got another call from Reel Fun. They have landed 5 so far with no keepers. They have been in the 3 foot range. He says the bits is real soft. The bait of choice is smelt and squid. Brian

Spazz,
It's all good. Went back to bed with the Mrs,
then took her out to breakfast, now I'm playing with my little boy. I don't get enough time with him during the day, so it's a blessing in disguise.
Gonna hit the river tomorrow for all the leftovers. Like thanksgiving, leftovers are better anyway.

I was out this morning just for a ride on the water, no fishing, didn't really have time. I took off from Rogers Marina and went around Kelley Point and then on to St. Johns Bridge.

Saw about maybe 60 to 80 boats and heard losts of smack on the radio.

Looks like a really good turn out. Hope you guys all tag out early.

Looks like a mixed bag of weather....

Well wish we had a great report like Team Sneakin Out. Way to go boys!!!!! The best part is Mrs. Tilla did'nt even have to help ya today but we sure could have used her on my boat.

Tough fishing for us and it sounds like many others. Our total catch was 11 fish and a few swings and misses. Measured a 38 and 39 and they were the highlights for our day. I guess we at least caught fish today so there ya go.

Keep the reports coming this evening. How did ya all do?

Low holed??? Sorry Rick I did'nt realize it was you up there bro until we set the anchor. Glad you made it out today.

Also want to give a shout out to Don and Julie who were great company today. Sorry I failed you two but it was awefully nice watching you guys take naps. Anyone that needs someone to fish with sometime give these two folks a call. Awefully nice people.

Team Dire Duck is in the running for the dreaded Baton of shame as we where unable to boat a keeper. Did get 2- 41 inchers and 20-30 shakers but just couldn’t find that extra little bit of length. Was my little brothers first time sturgeon fishing and we tried hard to get him a keeper to no avail. At least he got to real in one of the 41 inchers, only to have me give it the heave ho before we got any picture :depressed: .

Team Steelie69 is happy to report we got no stinking baton for our boat. Lots of bites a few shakers and Steelie69 hung one keeper 42 3/4".
Another great day on the water. Thanks again Brad I had a great time as usual. Maybe next time I can get ahold of a keeper.

Team Slow gray elk reporting in.
Just before launching at Cathlamet at 8:00 am I spoke to a couple of guys that were putting in ahead of me. They'd drove down from Chehalis to fish sturgeon for the day. They were nice guys and had fished the area before. They told me where they thought the sturgeon would be. (I haven't fished sturgeon out of Cathlamet before.) They launched their Hewes boat and discovered their steering cable was siezed. After they struggled with it for about an hour with no success team Slow gray elk offered them seats in our boat. Well to make the story short, we had a great time but the fishing sucked. Just a few nibbles, no fish to the boat, zip.... nada... zilch. Moved 3 times same story, used smelt, shrimp and squid. Slowpie and I didn't even put our rods in the water, just watched the other 3 fishermen drowning bait off the stern of the boat. The wind was blowing us around even with the kicker running in reverse. Bring on the baton.

Team "all inclusive" reporting in. Great day on the water with Scott and Clownmouh. No keepers to report but 21 shakers in all with the biggest in the yardstick range. Tough fishing today compared to last weekend. Threw everything in the bait bucket at em. The chatter on the vhf was great, Ifish stickers everywhere. All kinds of activity on the river from tugs and barges, fire boats to the water cops pulling up and asking if we had seen anyone jump off the St Johns bridge  Thanks Bernie for getting this off the ground (I hope you win  ) I cant wait for the springer flotilla

Team Bait Masters Tally :

3 fisherman, 17 fish, 1 keeper, 6 beers, 4 nutty bars, one bad cup of chicken noodle soup, a toothpick we pulled out of the side of a shaker, lots of laughs and freindly people and too many crackered fish to count

Weather was tempermental today but with a full top and propane heater we were toasty warm

"El Capitan" AndyCoho with bent rod and big grin

I quit talkin' smack for a minute to bring in a fish

Baitboy with his Keeper 45". Yes, it jumped, and yes it was impressive.

A sincere thank you to my teammates AndyCoho (love that TR-1 !) and Baitboy (look a rainbow !) for the good times on the water. Also, nice to see other ifishers and great to meet new ones.

No Keepers today, about 18 shakers, biggest in the mid 30's...

Definately not like last week...but one great time to say the least...

Did get a few team pictures in action however...OBTW, met allot of great people at the ramp afterwards as well...

Shout out to "Boady"...Don't let Degner chip any of that nice paint off that new ride of his...Hey Degner...Nice Ride...

Team "Jolly Roger" Chris' daughter reefing up one of their many fish today...

Team "Its Just Fishin" Bernie (Catch & Eat), Woodie, Just a Silly Ole Girl & Carl (Bernie's Dad)

Team Cast & Blast, Oregon Redside, Boat Dog, Safety Chain...

And yes finally, here is 1/3 of "Team Hog Hunter" with the money fish...Yes people, that would be one of Oregon's finest "North American Pikeminnow" or to common folk..."Squafish"...Spooled got spooled by this behemoth...

Thanks to all those giving shouts on the radio and I for one think we should do this for Springers...

Team Bonkem all Charters had only shakers with one at 40 and one at 41. Total of 17 shakers for 4 guys. What a difference a year makes Good job UG and Sturgeon Tom. Oh yeah when I cleaned the boat tonight I found your thermos Tom.

Hey Troy, did that one "spool" you?

You should have known better than letting someone take that picture.

Our team was short of keepers as well. I was schooled today 2-1 by Fishin Mission (it doesn't usually happen on Sturgeon....), who found the right sized bait and "Hit'em hard - Swing on anything" technique. We parked in one spot all day and had ~35 shakers to the boat with only 3 over 40" for our two rods. No shortage of action, but waiting for the keeper to come along didn't pan out today.

WOW!!! What a day!! Isn't that Oregon weather just amazing?

Had an awesome day fishing with ******, Dipnet, and Father Jerry. You guys are all great.

That triple sure was fun. At one point I hear "Do you have a fish or is mine into your line. Oh, I have one too...." Gotta love those chinese fire drills.

Not sure what the final tally was on ******'s boat. Must have been around 71? I'm not sure who was counting though....

Just thought I would add a couple of pics I took today.

Father Jerry

Dipnet

Thanks for the ride ******!!! Nice to see you again Dipnet and Jerry!!!

Hey Bernie!! Thanks for low-holing us today   You should have come and at least said "Hi"

Sweet pics KHH

We saw you guys out on the water today too. Hard to miss the "Hog Hunter" rumblin' through the water.

I had no idea that was Catch and Eat in the Camo open sled. We were fishing above you and saw first hand the all-day shower you guys took. I kept calling you "Team Poncho" You guys are hardcore.

On the water at 9:00 and off by 3:00. And what a fun day it was !! Great company and lots of action!! Thanks Rick for hauling us out!!! We didn't keep track, but there was a rod going off pretty much all the time. Didn't have to move and only had to run the kicker a couple of times!! Pickled squid, smelt or a combo of both were the baits of the day. Smoked steelhead and chocolate chip cookies were the baits for us!! Here's one of the nice ones SteelieSteve hooked today We had a triple going at one time with a keeper and a couple other pretty close.

Team "Sober Ones"

Lost count of our fish caught. Several 30+" and a lot of shakers. We ended up with two keepers 42" & 43" I will post a pic of the "43 when I get home. Our bite really turned on at about 4:30.........All in all a good day with good people. We had a good time.

So where do I apply for the baton?

Like ORS said, BIG NO

But I am sure it was the rod. I found out on the way home it has never caught a sturgeon I think the manufaturer rubbed it down with banana oil

Boat Dog, thank you again, especially for the extra rider. ORS, it was everything I imagined and a special thanks for the shirt

Looking forward to doing it again with both of you.SKahorse, you can use that rod next time.

Sturg42, thank you as well. Extra special when the boy gets his first keeper.

Scott,

I'll say this, that raspy voice sounded like someone who had just drank a quart of Wild Turkey while chain smoking 2 packs a day for 30 years...

When they got on there and said something about a hot tub tonight and wanting to enjoy it with "Get Bent" I said to myself that, that was way too much information but it definately had me chuckling...

Well Team Carrot Milk finally represented. It took us about 3 moves and most of the day before we scored our keepers.

Chris was the first person to put a keeper in my new boat. This little fattie measured 43 inches and lived to fight another day!

Not long after I hooked a fish that felt real good when I first hit it. Then it kind of just came into the boat so I figured I had a little guy hooked in the side or something. Just as the fish got to the boat it jumped completely across the whole back of the boat and proceeded to fight me for another five minutes! Here are some Carrots waiting for dinner…

And the prize, he measured 51” and was very fresh and sharp.

Bobby hooked a nice oversized that took a nice roll behind the boat and then spit the hook at us.

Cracker Joe avoided the baton with this monster…

All in all a great day spent with good buddies. I LOVE my new boat, man that thing absolutely crushes anything that remotely looks like chop, waves or swells! Hot bait for us was squid filled with Carrot Milk!

I have two questions:

1. Who was in the red Alumaweld slammin fish down by Scnitzer?
2. Who was in the white alumaweld who needed a tow? Hope it wasn't serious.

Comment: what was up with the barge cpatain callin in the Sherriff? He had plenty of room and told the sherriff that he blasted his horn and no one yielded. I saw boats move. What's up with these guys?
