Westside Thursday???

Thinking hard about hitting the Westside tomorrow anybody want to give it a go?

With all the cold weather up north and this storm coming through it looks to be a good one. Let me know if you are up for it.

I have decoys and a dog but need someone that can call them ducks in. Mossberg 3.5 you up for it?

How was it Tuesday did anybody go?

Hunted the Hunt unit on the eastside yesterday. Very slow. Stayed until 9:30 or so and left with 4 birds for 3 of us. Didn't hear many shots from other units either.
I have a res for Racetrack tomorrow.

i'd love to go, but i am not going to be able to make it. i probably won't get much hunting in again until next week.

look me up then...or i might be out there saturday. we'll see how it goes.

Well, I wasn't gonna go, but a call at 12:30 from my buddy with a shotgun talked me into it. We drew well AGAIN with #33, and I was pretty happy about it. Then the guy in front of us said, "hey, I'm not using my #10, I'm goin' with my buddies with #6" SCORE!!!

We headed out to Mud Lake #1 again, and ended at 11am or so with 12 in the bag. Morning flight was slow, but steady birds every 20 minutes or so made for a good day. I'm almost positive I'll be going tomorrow, but our group is filled up (we try not to hunt more than 3 guns and 1 dog in a blind). See you guys out there. With this snow it should be AWESOME. I've had all my best days out there in the snow. I'm actually thinkin' about hitting the Eastside and trying to get on to a corn unit (Hunt, Deadwillow, Footbridge, etc.). With this cold weather they should be blowing up tomorrow.

went out to the westside yesterday to draw with a buddy of mine and we ended up getting a number 64 and 128. we decided to head over to the eastside and see what was left, when we got to the checkstation, we took dead willow and got into the northwest corner. keep in mind we were 4th from last in the nonresi line and we could not believe that someone wasn't in the spot when we got there :grin: . we ended up with 13 birds coming out at 1.00 pm. we were told that by the time we came out, we had more than doubled the amount of birds that had come out of the entire eastside till then. guess it helps to know where to go on a day like that.

I am planning on going tomorrow to the West side. I am not much of a caller though. I need to see if my father in law is going to go tomorrow or not. I also have a black lab that I would not mind taking out. So if he is not going I am up for it.
