Default Battleground Unit Late Season...

I know some us had some pretty good spots staked out from last year, but with the shift in the unit boundaries, does anybody have any ideas for public areas big enough to hunt in? I am going to be going over a few maps looking for a new area, but I am not too convinced I will find one.

If you are willing to share, feel free to PM or email me with info.

I may also be heading up to the Wind and W Klick this weekend for late muzzleloader elk. Anybody else going?

Big Tule...So how did it go on the elk hunt?

I ended up finding a few decent spots for the BG deer and gave that a go. Found a fair bit of sign, but I should have brought a machete instead of the smokepole.

Saw more hunters than sign, but it beats sitting around wishing I was out there.

Welcome to the crew. I did the same thing, took out the gazateer and Topo's outlined the new unit and stared at it blankly. Not much to choose from, I might do some scouting for some places to hunt late december once the weather comes and most people run out of kitchen passes. Until then, I'll be looking in WR, WK, and the Coweemen unit for elk I think. Good luck to you Lured, maybe we'll meet in the woods someday.
