Default Ifish Hunters Sauvie Island "Westside Story"

ok guys...how did we all do?

for those that didn't know, a bunch of us put together a fast hunt on the west side of SI this morning.

I was out with Bank Maggot and his friend Greg.

Boedy was out with 2 friends. (sorry guys..i forgot names)

Steelheader22 brought along 5 guys

we had chip number 30 and barely got in. ended up on Seal Lake #5 and surprisingly shot 6 birds. 1 geenhead, 2 Gads, and 3 widgeon.

Steel?? Boedy?? how did you guys do? no excuses Steel ..with chips 4 and 9 you guys should have been clobbering ducks.

I hunted in the group of 2 today and we got chip #9. Ended up with Mud Lake 1 being the "best" left up on the board. We left at around 11:30 with 9 between the two of us, 6 mallards and 3 widgeon. It definitely was an interesting day with a bum hand. Had a hard time getting down on the birds and found myself missing easy decoy shots 'cause I was shooting over them.

My buddies hunted Mud Lake 2 from chip #4. They had birds all day, every 15-20 minutes, right in there face. Every one they had when we left was a mallard. I didn't count, but I'm sure they were pushing the 20 bird mark. I haven't heard what they ended with yet, but I'm sure they will limit all 4 guns in there blind.

All in all a good day. Man was there a lot of people out there today.

Just got the final word about my buddies in Mud 2. They ended with 25 for the 4 of them. They said the weather got nice at about 2 and everything shut off. Shoulda had their limit, but you know how that goes.

To any of my friends that hunted Mud 2 today, NICE SHOOTIN' TEX! Does anyone on here know of a good shooting instructor, I've got some clients for him. Point and pull fellas, it's just that easy. Next time I'll go with ya and show you how it's done. 10 days and the stitches are out, I'll be good as new are ready to put on a clinic for ya.

By the way, is anyone going out Tuesday? I might, but the weather today showed me that I need to upgrade my gear, so I may be doing improvements this week instead. Let me know. I'm off to pick up some camo paint for my extreme shotgun makeover tonight.

30, 4 and 9? I think the lowest I've ever drawn is 75 with the average being in the triple digits. Lucky Dogs.

You guys are killing me here - between reading about today's birds and watch the weather outside my window, I'm getting twitchie! I really, really, really wanted to get out today, but work got it the way.

Nice shootin' all! Even those that missed a couple

well, that was a result of 12 people drawing chips and taking the top 4. the other chip was 42 i think. that was Boedy's crew.

persoanlly, my contribution was drawing chip #113. ha ha ha ha!!!

Yes we ( Fishnxtc , Bob) had chip 42 but might as well have been 142 :depressed: ended up at Holmen 3 and didn’t raise a feather on anything. I knew we were in trouble when they called 1 – 24 with out missing a number but that’s the way it goes I guess. Got good and cold / wet though and got to see a little more of the area and met some new friends so it wasn’t a total waste. Mossy if I am off Tuesday I would be up for a hunt I know I have to draw a good chip one of these times  Nice meeting you , Bank Maggot and Steelheader22.

BM- It was our lucky day. I've never had two groups with that low of chips before. It made for a really fun day, having my buddies hunting right in the blind next to us. Very rarely does that happen. Kind of a double edged sword though I guess, when all you can do is sit back and watch your buddies get every bird that comes into the lake. Your always happy for them, but you know your gonna hear it. A lot of "Got ANOTHER one, I hope I don't run out of shells." and "How you guys doing down there, wanna come down here and shoot some of ours, my shoulder's getting sore."
