E.E. Wilson and Fern Ridge WAs

I am looking for some upland and H20 fowling areas relatively close to Newport was wondering if any of you all have any info on these areas. I have dogs and don't mind walking and can go to these places during the week to avoid the crowds. Your input would be be greatly appreciated.

Actually the best show at EE Wilson right now is rabbit hunting over beagles. There's a couple of duck ponds there, but never seem to get too much action. I'm thinking pheasant is closed - at least for the fee hunts. Dunno about quail.

My brother took my game bird regs so I don't have anything to refer to for sure.

Haven't been down to Fern Ridge this year.

Dont waste your time at Fern Ridge, not if you are driving from Newport. The easy areas are really competitive(people set up at 1AM etc), and the harder to reach areas are more work than they are worth.

Ever try Alsea Bay? I shot my first duck there and hunted it hard for years. Late November is usually prime time down there
