Default !!!!!! WELD WHEEL ALERT !!!!!!!!

Attn all Ifish members!!!

On Weds of this week I was washing my f350 and found that I had 3 of my 4 Weld EVO velociti 8xt wheels broken at 3 of the 8 spokes at the hub center. This could have been a major crash.

Weld wheel and the National Transportation saftey board will be recalling all wheels of this type.

Make sure that you inspect all of your custom wheels for cracks. Most custom wheels do not have the weight load rating as factory wheels.

GOD was watching out for me.

I have always been alarmed by these type of wheels, it seems like a race to see who can carve the most metal off of them. There is just nothing there and yet we put tons of force on them!

nice rim's dude. Did ya try and get off the pavement with them or tow somthing heavy?? Why would a fellow put rims like that on a heavy truck that was ment to haul or go off road Thats what my dentice, lawer, neigebors do he has a porche too -go figure- flash blinging rims crack me up on big rigs. dont haul any thing and stay on the pavement, drive it like a low rider, till you can get some steel under you.

"Those" wheels/rims for the heavy trucks are made to withstand hauling and off-road, WELD RACING is a leader in the custom wheel manufacturing business, and build top notch stuff. I'm surprised to see a problem with the EVO's I have been running WELD alloys on my F350's for over 10 years and have never had a wheel fail. I haul trailers, campers, boats, equipment, and go off in the back country in some pretty rough country. My wheels have yet to fall off, I'm still flashin bling

BCD yes I was the guy at West Linn Schwab Small world.

I have always run Weld wheels and have had no problem in past.

Wheels rated at 3300lbs per wheel that gives me 13200lbs on the truck. My light weight of my truck is 8800 lbs that leaves me with 4500lbs payload. My camper fully loaded weights in at 3700lbs and with towing the boat adds 300lbs to my rear wheels for a total on the truck of 4000lbs that gives me 500lbs to spare. All wheels built with saftey factor of up to 20% additional weight rating. Thats 660lbs per wheels.

The bottom line is the wheels should not have failed. The cracks are in a location that would have the most impact and the way thay are cut have the small amount of metal.

I have talked with weld and they have been very good to deal with. The manager at schwab had a bad weld EVO just last week with the same problem.

My thanks go to GOD for watching out after me.
