Default Stingfish (New Product)????????

I was going through my latest issue of STS today, when I happened upon this little ad. I was wondering if anyone has tried this product, of what you think of it?

They look a lot like kwikfish knockoffs, but with a sting!

I believe it is supposed to emit a small electrical current that mimmicks bait fish.

Sounds like a load of hooey to me! Looks like someone bought some quick fish and stuck a gizmo on there to see if the sucker fish will bite! They probably will charge you 3 easy payments of only $19.99 $$$$$$$

I talked to a guy at scotty's who said it would emit .01 volt while it was in the water and moving. So, I don't know that much about electronics.I hooked it up to the volt meter, put it in the water, shook it and nothing happened. So I am thinking it's just a rattle chamber of specific metals that when combined with movement and water would create a small amount of energy. Like I said. I know little about this kind of stuff. Just an inquisitive idiot(as Boedy's poster would imply)
Though I do know from first hand experienc that the rotory salmon killer with this thing(e-chip)in it does catch fish (when bite turns off) in the AK salt.
Anyone else in the know?

This is some info from there website:

Fish have five different sensing mechanisms they use to find their prey. Each species will use the mechanism that best fits the habitat where it lives and the type of prey they are after. For example, in clear water near the surface where light penetrates, fish can easily see their prey. In dark murky or deep water where there is very little light the same fish will rely on other mechanisms. All the sensing mechanisms are important and the more of them a fisherman uses to attract fish, the better chance he has of catching them.
In the 1990's the engineers at Pro-Troll began to focus on vibrations and electrical sensitivity as two underutilized sensing mechanisms by fishermen and fishing lures. This research has paid off and particularly in electrical sensitivity. After several years of work, Pro-Troll was able to develop two products that are now adding electrical nerve attraction to other mechanisms. They are:

The Sport Fishing Black Box which controls the electrical charge on a downrigger wire to a charge just right to attract different fish.
The EChip which uses vibrations and a special ceramic crystal to generate nerve pulses in artificial lures, attractors and bait holders.
The response to this research has been most encouraging. In carefully controlled EChip tests, 15% to 400% more fish were hooked and landed. Pro-Troll has introduced several products containing the EChip. It will continue its research to refine the EChip and the applications for it. We encourage and invite comments and recommendations from fishermen.

There are five sensing mechanisms used by all fish to find and catch their prey.
Sight - Fish see their prey and attack it.
Smell - Most fish have a highly refined sense of smell. The smell of blood or baitfish gets the attention of a lot of species.
Sound - Sound travels much better in water than it does in air. Fish can hear sound from a long distance away.
Vibration - Fish have a lateral line along their bodies that can detect vibrations in the water. Many species use this to detect vibrations from baitfish or other fish as they wiggle their tails to swim.
Electrical sensisitivity - Fish can detect the tiny nerve pulses of other fish. Many species use this to zero in on struggling baitfish or other prey.

I really have to wonder how much they are? They've listed Fisherman's as a dealer. It would be interesting to test one against a kwikie and see the results.

If they cost twice as much as a Kwikfish though, I would highly doubt they would be worth it. Kwikfish has put a lot of fish in people's freezers.
