ODFW Calling Me?

I was talking with my wife today and she mentioned that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife called me on Tuedsay. I asked what they wanted. Well, we have privacy plus, and the call rang through with the message, "You have a call from The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, press "one" to accept the call". I love my wife, but she is somewhat technically challenged, and instead of pressing "one" she pressed "off". I looked at the caller ID history tonight and saw that they called two more times this week. I don't recall breaking any game laws lately.

Do you suppose they are just calling to say "hi"?

If you had a controlled hunt tag for 2003 the call to see how you did. I got 2 calls one for my elk hunt and one for my deer hunt. They do it every year.

I haven't hunted or applied for a controlled hunt tag for almost 20 years.

I'm thinking they are going to tell me that I've won the North River sled, even though I haven't sent in my 2003 tag yet.

They were probably interested in info on whatever tag/license you purchased last year. As mentioned above, they randomly survey over phone for hunter success. I have not heard about this for fishing but its entirely possible.

Hi guys,
If you look in the new synopsis for 2004 they have a few eminders that ODFW will be making random cals to Angling license holders to hget a better Idea of how th inividual angler are using the resources in Oregon. Strictly routine, you probably didn't break any laws that you are being hunted down for.
