Default Bison head mount

I have a co-worker who is in search of a bison head mount. Does anyone know of a taxidermist or anyone else who could help him locate one that is in good shape?

Any help would be appreicated.

They are raised commercialy, so in places like Montana they are easy to get.

He wants to get it locally so he can inspect the mount and make sure it has the "look" he wants.
I am figuring that he will have to get it through a taxidermist.

For some reason he will not pay for the hunting trip for me so I can go hunt one with a bow for him. I just want some of the meat and the hide. I would even be willing to pay for part of the cost.

Sorry I can't help with the mount info. Regarding pegging a buffalo, the meat and hide would be great but the sport of it would be every bit as exciting as shooting a domestic cow.

Wade,
Yea, I have heard that shooting a bison can be rather boring if you hunt the smaller ranches. My ex father in-law used to hunt a large ranch in NoDak and they have free range herds that you can hunt. You are restricted to a horse and blackpowder or archery. He told me they can be quite sneaky when they want to. Biggest pain was to find them in 50,000 acres of badlands. A herd of 50 animals can disappear really easily in that.

Salmurai,
I will pass that info along. He will be interested in that.

I've had some mounts done in Cornilus at Snyder's. Went out there one morning last summer and he was working on a Bison mount. I thought it was strange and asked about it. It seems one of the local Bison ranchers in Forest Grove was having it done. I think he said it was the second that he'd done for the guy. To bad I can't give him anything to mount for me this year I'd give the guy a call,I bet he could work something out and he really does get into the details for the "look"

Hey Stickfish,
Thanks for the info, love Cabela's, didn't know they carried them.
You may also know my father-in-law, depending on who you interviewed with for WU.
