Default New sturgeon limit of 5 fish 2004

At the Sturgeon meeting last Thursday in Vancouver, the one question I had of the state represenatives was, of these recommendations you are considering, are these for the Columbia River ONLY, & or does any of this dribble over into other coastal rivers?

The response from the Bill Tweit representing Washington, was that NO, these other rivers, the Willapa, Chehalis, Tillamook, etc. are separate rivers & they try to manage them independently.

Now I hear that as of April 1, Washington is considering inplementing the 5 fish a season limit on all waters.

I did not specifically specify the 5 fish limit when I addressed them, but the intent was there as well as for the seasons. Did they waltz around my question. Or since I am new at this, did I have my head up my lower anatomy & not ask the exact right question?

Pete, did you understand the same? Or was I hearing things differntly ?

This may be a clue - the oregon tag only has 5 spots on it. I will bet when washington puts out the new tags in April they will also have only 5 spots on it. I am told this is for ease of enforcement. If Oregon lowered its limit on all other coastal rivers and estuarys I bet wash will to.
