Jarhead the movie

There is a new movie out called JarHead about the first Iraq war. As an ex-jarhead, there is no movie that depicts the experience like Full Metal Jacket (first half). What do the rest of you jarheads think? Semper Fi!

FMJ is my all time favorite Jarhead movie. Cracks me up how the DI in that movie just goes off on the recruits. It always brings back memories. When you look back, it was really kind of funny how they just unload on you.

I think the biggest thing I learned in the Marine Corps is that your body is nothing compared to your mind. If you listened to your body, you would give up. If you trust in your mind, you could always go on. And that is what the first half of Full Metal Jacket reminds me of.

I'm not so sure about Jarhead... Might be Ok, I don't know.

I'm not an Marine, but I saw the movie Saterday with my boss, an ex SOCOM sniper with lots of time in combat. He was reciting the lines as they said them, and he had never seen te movie before either. It is the most realistic thing he has ever seen.
I think everyone should see this movie, and if you don't walk out looking for a service man/woman to thank for their service, you dont have a heart.
