Willamette River Outlaw Scores a Monster Buck
Willamette River Outlaw was easily coerced into doing some work for me last weekend. I told him not to wear any clothes that he didn't want to get dirty. He got REALLY DIRTY
I told him since he worked so hard, I'd take him deer hunting the next week.
I took him to the family ranch and let him shoot a deer from my sister's "petting zoo". I called ahead and asked my neice to untie the rope and take the halter off. It was her favorite little buck. The one she bottle fed since it was a baby.
But she knew Ryan couldn't kill one any other way, so she let him shoot her pet deer.
Don't tell WRO any of this. He thinks he snuck up on a wild deer.
During the chase, Ryan was about to give the "coup de grass" and I yelled "Don't shoot!!" He looked at me all suprised and confused. I said "wait a minute, he's heading right to the road". He finished right on a logging road.
Before we took the photo, I borrowed his handkerchief so I could wipe the milk off it's nose.
He's a good guy, for a kid. I keep encouraging him to do well in college so he can get a good job and take me fishing when I get old.
Good Job Ryan.

Re: Willamette River Outlaw Scores a Monster Buck
GRB,
Nice job editing out the tether rope for the picture. You can just barely see it. And of course that's obviously an old skid road in the pic. Did any of you help him pack it out?
The story ought to be pretty good, though, when it finally winds down through the family history and is told to his grandkids. "Yep, Jimmy, I remember the time when nobody was getting any deer and the starving townsfolk came to me for help..."
Gee, this is pretty fun, tweaking WRO around. I can see why you let him "do a little work" for you, though. Ugh.
Congrats, WRO. Looks like the one I took last year, and it sure ate up good.

As long as the bipod doesnt put you at a height that interpheres with the lower board on the fence I can see why you pack it
Nice job on shooting something with antlers, I havent seen many floppy eared does being posted on ifish
Bruce takes another one under his wings. Gee how do I get in line for the meal ticket?

Re: Willamette River Outlaw Scores a Monster Buck
Luckily bruce let me take the ear tag out before the picture #37 right ? I tried to edcuate it first by firing a warning shot over its back, but it didn't seem to smart so I let it have it the second time..
It ain't the biggest deer I have ever killed but it will definately eat much better than tag soup.
Thanks again to bruce, it was a really good time, with good company.
BOE,
You know you can take those bi-pods off and stand on them so you can see over the tall grass, you should get one .

Re: Willamette River Outlaw Scores a Monster Buck
I ate a package of steaks tonight, between the milk and the corn, it was sooooo tender that a knife wasn't necessary  . It definately ate much better than the big rutted up buck I shot 2 years ago.
Bruce,
Ask your sister if I can shoot that little one she raising this year next year. I should have some sausage packages ready for you next friday or so. Thanks again for helping me to cut it up on friday.
