Was out at my parents house for a couple of days and saw two bucks.yesterday a very big 4x4 laying down smack dab in the middle of a feild in broad daylight and today jumped an old grey faced big bodied 3x2 and a doe this evening. The 3X2 was about 30 yards away from me when i jumped him and his honey.I let out a grunt and he stoped but the doe split.I kept making grunts and walking twards the buck and he didnt retreat, he actualy came quartered tward me.I played hide and seek with him in waist high blackberie rows (it was a poplar feild with blackberies)until he hid where he thought i couldnt see him then i snuck within about 20 feet of him.I am sure he could see me but he didnt want to budge...he was out of his mind in the rut. I could of blasted him 20 times....If i had a tag.I didnt buy one this year because of my fears (probably irrational) of cwd,and all the other diseases these mangey criters can cary.All i can say is if you have a rifle tag, hunt these last two days hard...call in sick if you have to.

somewhere in the willamete unit...its not private property,hundreds if not thousands of hunters pass it every year on the way to the "high country". I killed a blacktail that scored 144 bc points in it in 1999. When i get a digi camera/scanner i will post pics of that and other bucks i have killed here and other photos i have promised to post.Some people here probably think im bs'n but i have photos that will blow your mind!!!!
