late archery deer,alsea unit.

Anybody going for the late archery hunt. Do you think the bucks will still be ruttn. I will be in the fall creek fish hatchery area and was wondering if that was a good area for deer in november. Thanks,sturgeon1. I was up there a couple of weeks ago & they were clear cutting so I thought that might help out a little. We will see guess. If you see a blue&white 68 ford 3/4 ton truck around with 2 guys in it that dont look like they know what they are doing that will be us & say howdy. God luck to all.

I will be in the stott mt area.Last year we were able to call in two bucks getting only one of them.

I bow hunt too but rattle for a couple of friends that are bang stickers. i brought in a 3X4 for one friend last thursday in the Scio area. I think the MAIN RUT WILL BE DONE BUT IF YOU KNOW OF THE SECOND RUT DON'T MISS IT. For does that don't take during the 1st rut it gives all those bucks a second crack at them. It's a lot shorter in duration. i'v found that rattling doesn't work as well and scent in the 2nd rut, I think it's because the bucks are not being teritorial they are all just trying to find that 5-10 percent of the does that did not take the first time. Try tree standing in a saddle and lay a scent tail into it with a rag on a limb 15 trds away.
