Way to go! Nice buck. Tacklebuster is right though, in these here parts we don't count eye gaurds as points.

My first Blacktail "pic updated" Mt hood
I hunted Santiam unit this weekend. Saturday was pretty unproductive, rattled in one doe at sixty yards, the buck never followed. I knew where I was headed Sunday morning from the sign I had seen. Entered my honey hole early pre-dawn Sunday. I knew the deer would be moving because the change in the weather. Settled down and waited for first light. Snow flurries and cold temperatures. Just as it was light enough to see, several deer started moving out of their beds. I shot a very large 3x2 blacktail at 45yards. It measured 161/2 on the inside and pretty tall. The buck’s body was very large. Dressed I would have to guess 160lbs...Felt like 200! Mmmmmmmmmmm jerky. Not bad for my first blacktail!

Re: My first Blacktail "pic updated" Mt hood
Congratulations. That is an old trophy buck.
You can tell he's been around more than a couple seasons due to the gray face, heavy antlers and nice brow tines.
