Default Wall paper removal

Whats the easiest way to get rid of this junk?

According to the lady at Lowes its to use a wall paper scorer and then spray a glue remover on the paper. It seems like this method will leave a nasty residue that'll have to be cleaned off before I can texture the wall.

Has anybody tackled this before?

Sounds about right to me, i think wallpaper should be outlawed . After getting it off of the wall use some TSP it will remove the residue. You can get that at lowes or The depot. Total surface prep, just mix with water. If you are not worried about the floor, use a pump sprayer ,it will save you a litlle time. I dont think there is an easier way ,I might be wrong.

Stay away from steamers, they remove the paper but leave the glue. Chemical stripper does better.

Just did this a few months ago it works pretty well - just follow the directions and wipe it down afterwards

I have removed a ton of it and the last stuff I found was Jasco mix with water spray on get it good and wet let stand for 5 mins or so and use a GOOD quality scraper to remove the paper.

The last 2 houses I have done we textured and I just hit the high glue spots with some sand paper.

Looks great.

Scoring isn't a big deal if it is PAPER some of the older wallpaper had foil on it that needs to be scored.
