Needed inventions
OK who has the next good invention idea (not that you should share it)
Optical sensor in my toaster?
Front wheel drive pickup? (they could make one but that would make a 4x4 somewhat pointless)
self righting beer holder? wouldnt want to spill it all..
golfball that wont hook
fishing hook that always hooks.. although that would take a lot of the fun out of it.
Electric fishing line...turns on at a push of a button...keep those pesky seal lions away...
a forever lightbulb
ummmm that all I could think of in 2 minutes..

Re: Needed inventions
golfball that wont hook
Think thats been done, but its too close to going home time to google it up.
I would pay for the self righting beer holder.
I would like to see a wireless wife mood meter, with a range of 25-50 miles.
A boat motor that runs on water
long day...all I can think of on short notice

Re: Needed inventions
On a recent cold morning on the river my son thought of one: a heated fishing pole handle. Seemed like a prety good idea to me...

That has merit!

Re: Needed inventions
Forever lightbulb - they can do that. apparently the technology exists. But who would? Eventually the market would dry up.
Forever batteries - same thing. Would be worth it, though. I'd pay $100 ea. for 4 AA forever batteries for my digital camera. They always die at the wrong time. There are times when having spares on hand just don't cut it. They could keep the rest of the market if they'd just create a sensor for all battery dependent items that would indicate X number of hours, starts, whatever, left before the battery died.
Electric fishing line? You could probably do this pretty easily.
I like the optical sensor in the toaster thing, though.
I'd have self-washing windows and a "memory finder" - push a button and speak the name of the item you're trying to locate and voila! it tells you the item's exact location.
How about a "whodunnit" - a handy device for anyone with kids and the constant mystery about who is responsible for whatever mess is left behind.
What about robohandyman? This handy contraption would always be around whenever something broke or needed improvement. "Robohandyman, the dryer doesn't seem to dry clothes as fast as it used to..." - Poof! Robohandyman has screwdrivers and wrenches flying, prints out a list of parts, and instantly installs them the moment the arrive.

A beeper for remote controls, they put them in cordless phones why not in something smaller that is more likely to find its way under a cushion in the couch.

Plugs on cars that allow you to just plug them together to jump start. The cord could retract into the plug.

Re: Needed inventions
How about a small, boat motor that winds up.
A meter on our thermostat that translates to $ so my wife can see how much money we have used so far each day.

A keyboard resident macro program that either unleashes a 'truck monkey' or shocks the snot out of any graphic designer who creates a label containing a font size of less than 12 points on any OTC or prescription meds.
{Who are these jokers that create important warnings/instructions in mouse type?! They're techno sadists that's what!! }

That answers my other invention idea, too, come to think of it! A test to find out if he's a "real" man!
Hey, whatever works

Re: Needed inventions
How about a device capable of sending a powerful electro-magnetic pulse to fry the server of anyone attempting to download spyware on your computer! (not possible, but fun to think about).

Re: Needed inventions
1 Volks Wagon made a front wheel drive pic-um-up truck, that is if you could call it a pic-um-up truck.
2 Drink your beer out of a tipy cup,,no more spilt beer.
3 They almost made a hook that never missed hooking a fish, it was a style 53 Eagle Claw.
#### 4 the one I would like to see is a phone that would let you know before answering it that your grown child wants to borow $$$$$$$$$$
##### 5 A pair of shorts( under garmet type ) that would muffel and absorb the sound and the smell of a [petunias!] while in CHURCH.

Re: Needed inventions
I don't drink anymore, nor backpack much either -- but I'm sure you would have a great seller if you could make good tasting, carbonated, freeze-dried beer! Just add water. Then for a little more money -- an integrated instant chill pack. Of course you'd want it packaged nicely with a pop-up cup. Lot's of possibilities...

I don't know (name of the person who did everything) moved when the kid did and apparently does the same thing to their houses.

Re: Needed inventions
Herabices that are species specific.
Preferably an "agent" that could be released and continue to eliminate the selected invasive plant for a select amount of time at which it would become benign.
Probably more realist as a bacterial agent or virus.
But can you imagine spraying some spot for say, Scotch Broom and after a month the schotch broom is dead for miles around because of the bacteria or virus ability to grow and spread.
Sadly once such scientific/techological advances are achieved the same advances to kill weeds and invasives could be altered and abused to wipe out food stocks or medicinal plants.
