So this is the thread everybody has been asking me about!

But who started the "Wilsonville" rumor? Firecat????

Most likely this buck died of old age, I photographed him 5 or 6 years ago on private property. The only time I ever saw him in daylite hours. He'd show up when the doe's went into estrus, breed them, then disappear the rest of the year.

Sorry silverpicker..I was at a sporting goods store looking at a book on blacktail and a fella behind the desk showed me these pics of two enormous blacktails...this one was the biggest I ask him about it and he told me that the guy that took the pic lives out in wilsonville so I took it this is where the buck was seen, If I made a mistake I stand corrected.

Last april or may I saw 5 bucks which all appeared to be about this size. I am not a blacktail hunter so had no clue that they would be considered HUGE in blacktail standards. It was early morning and they were right next to the stafford road exit off 205. Standing on the south side of the hwy and looking like they were thinking of crossing. I was taking some business guys from the midwest to the airport. They all thought it was just common place to see bucks like that right next to a hwy. I was more amazed by the number of bucks hanging together than by their size. Guess I know better now.

ajff...not doubting that you saw a group of large bucks, but are you sure it was in April/May ? Most bucks are bald by then, and the larger boneheads usually drop their antlers by the first of March!
