Trick or Treater Thread :-)
Happy Halloween everybody.
It's damp out but not raining. Waiting for the ghouls, ghosts and Darth Vaders to start showing up in the next hour.

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
We may have a record breaking year...last year we went through 20+ bags of candy...wife counted around 450+ kids at our door...
There has been a lot of new construction in my subdivision, so it may even be a higher number this year!

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
We're looking to make a new record for Trick-or-Treaters this year. If we get... 13 ...it'll be a new record!
The first 4 T-or-T's will get a special TREAT. Super-Jumbo Cadbury Milk Chocolate bars!!!
I'm kinda glad we don't go through 20 bags....
Happy HALLOWEEN!

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
Wouldn't you know it. First trick or treater we have had in years, and I was in the shower!
I hollered at them to come back in 10 minutes, (I think I know who it was). We'll see if they return!
(EDIT: They did come back)

It is all gone. My neighbor stopped counting at 260. 18 bags is about 306 or so. I'm night fishing next year.

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
Hmmm......8:25 and only one ring of the door bell with 7 kids.
Figured we would do better then that with a brand new neighborhood of 40 homes. only 3 of the 40 are empty. We've seen lot's of kids playing outside since we lived here .
Oh well, maybe next year. It's bed time now.

Isnt that the truth, dad you would eat the whole damn bag in a sitting with your sweet tooth...
We went out T and T. with our friends and got some candy but it was raining so hard and you can only get a 19 month old to walk in the rain for so long before it is time to come home.
I started with a little over 5lbs. of candy and I think I still have 4and 1/2 lbs left. We had just one bunch of kids, otherwise we were gone. Now I have lots of candy for myself.

HOLY MOLY! Is THIS what Suburbia is like? Last year was NE PDX Halloween....6 kids, 2 thugs. This year in Sherwood, no thugs and 6 million kids. It was great.
Best costume was a cardboard box with a honeynut Cheerio lable on it, with a knife sticking out of it....he was a cereal killer. Good stuff.

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
I miss trick or treaters. I always make my kids go outside and ring the bell just once.
This year, I forgot to do even that. :depressed:
I'm going to rent an apartment in the city, just so I can!

Re: Trick or Treater Thread :-)
We had 4 last night. One Yoda, two scary maiden vampires, and one I don't know what. No homeless folks this year... We have a sick 2 1/2 year old with his same age cousin in town. Rather than go out, Jack's dad (my BIL) and I hid behind the doors of our house and had the boys knocking and asking trick or treat. After that, anytime anyone went to the bathroom, they would run over and greet them as they came out and said "Trick or Treat" It was priceless...

I think that they literally bus them in from the outskirts and drop them at one entrance...then pick them up at the exit.
The mayhem started about 5:30 and ran solid through 8:00ish...we finally shut the porchlight off with about 6 pieces of candy left for our friend's kids if they came by.
We did not get a headcount this year, but my wife stood on the porch passing out candy for two hourse straight without more than a minute pause between groups.
We cheaped out this year and bought the big 4 pound bags of mixed candy (tootsie rolls, dots, suckers, etc) and still went through 5 of those and 10 smaller bags of the small candy bars.
Kinda fun to see!
