Greenhead...I have hunted down there a few times, but don't remember the turnoff from 97. There are maps and info in little boxes at some of the parking areas and access roads. (at least there used to be). We never did very well on geese, but had some great shoots on ducks in the NE/E fields around Thanksgiving.

Keta would probably be the man to ask.

I haven't been down there for over 35 years and can't remember where it is. I'll ask around and try to get back with you. Stateline Rd. splits the lower refuge and is a few miles south of Warden on Hwy 97.

Keta...I forgot that was online.

Greenhead...For reference it was "the straits" unit as shown in the lower picture Keta posted. Don't forget there is also the Klamath WMA off 97 too.

Good luck.

If you come down how about buying a poor bum a cup of coffee or a beer? I'll buy the second cup or round.

Hey Keta, be carefull not to let greenhead drink to much coffee out hunting... And greenhead, keta is a great source of info, and great guy to talk to.
Hey Keta treat him right he is like my dad...
Hey greenhead are you leaving this thursday and returning on the 9th or are you leaving next thursday and returning on the 9th. I was unsure if you were going to be gone for a full week?
If not before you go we can go kill something. Travis will be scouting all week looking for an elk for hollie and he will let me know where they are.

Hey BT,
You should come down too. Plenty of high school boys (and girls) for you to Shanghai! The recruiters down here could probably use some pointers, or retrievers.

We'll be heading to Heppner for elk hunting a week from today.
