Default willamette springer question

learned a lot from fellow bankers (not $$) and picked up a few nice fish on the coastal rivers but i am perplexed about willamette springers. i'm out of salem and feel that i should be able to catch fish here since several thousand pass my front door. i'm on the bank and i want to throw spinners and plugs and maybe resort to plunkin a little. i'm gong to try the soc sec hole and under the bridge in salem but if anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Mennonite Hole, It is on wallace road north of salem, It is a greenway property, the driveway is right before the mennonite school.(about 9-10 miles north from west salem) They catch alot of fish there, from the bank. I would probably not start until march 15- april or so.

You would want to watch the fish counts at the Falls and go a few days after they start moving real good, usually sometime between late April and mid May.

And I live just outside Salem, and I have a boat. I've got to find where to fish for them in Salem. I drive 40 miles either direction of Salem and catch them, but I've not even hooked one here. I've tried Wallace Marine Park from the bank numerous times, with no avail.

Anyone want to find them with me?

thanks for the mennonite hole suggestion prawnasorus. should be able find it no problem. i guess it takes them about 7 days or so to get here from the falls.

SKP - luhr jensen puts out a TECH BULLETIN for the mid-willamette which might be helpful and state parks has a willamette river recreation guide that has locations for public access. i think it's all about going out and trying different spots. i'm always up for fishing and researching new spots. i'm at reclusive@earthlink.net if you want to go. i'm going out today to eye up some holes so i know where and what i need to fish them when they start running through.
