Default Elk hunts - where's the pic's/reports?

Man, I can hardly wait for our hunt, Nov 5-13th! One elk tag - in a (new to us) unit not far from John Day. We did some scouting and it looked like good country - just don't know how many real (non-road) hunters we'll see, and whether they'll be an unused flat spot to camp when we get there.

Where's the first season (Oct 26-30) East reports? Let's see some pic's and stories...

Cheers,
Blind Squirrel

They will come as soon as they break camp and get on the road. What unit did you draw? Maybe someone has some tips for you before you leave. I have hunted alot of units in that area. Good luck.

Heres my report for you - sorry no pics though. Hunted Starkey spike only with my dad and friend Slipknot. I was lucky and killed a small spike 8:00AM opening morning - he was with about 10 or 12 other elk but he was the only one I saw that had horns. Only elk I saw all hunt - I think it was pretty slow in the camps around us, didn't see anything else hanging when we left. Its nice to be lucky sometimes!

3 Spikes opening morning. One Doe Thursday Muzzle loader and one Cow Friday Muzzle loader.

I post the whole story later.
