Default Anybody use a Go-Devil?

Anybody out there have any experience with a Go-Devil motor? I'm kinda intrigued, but don't know much about them. Seems like tidal areas might be a good application for them as long as you didn't have to cross any heavy water going to or from.

What do you think?

Is this like a long shaft and an air cooled motor?
I've seen a few of these and they seem to work well.

Bump ^^^ I'm really hoping someone out there has one or has used one, and can give me some pros or cons.

Skein,

They are pretty popular in the marshes around Klamath Lake. I've seen guys crossing the big parts of that lake in windy rough conditions and a Go-Devil (also a brand called Beaver Tail) can boogy along. Power doesn't seem to be an issue.

There are different hp ranges.

Have you checked http://www.go-devil.com/ ?

If you want names of users, I can check with some of the K-falls boys.

I have no first hand experience.

This is the thing I see. They do get into some skinny weedy spots.

I want one so bad I can taste it. I have been looking into them for a couple of years now and have come to the conclusion that they(Go Devil,Beavertail, Mud Buddy) are all using the same motors(kawasaki, honda, kohler) just different features and options. My brother has a Beavertail and say's he wishes he would have bought a Mud Buddy. He believes they are better. (tuffer built)

I came to the same conclusion after speaking with people and looking at the motors. My brother says that he has a rock guard on his motor and can run rivers like the Clackamas.

Browns Landing in Scappoose carry the Mud Buddy so you can contact them for some info and maybe a demo. If you go for a demo call me. I would like to go also. I think these motors would be just the ticket for all of our estuary hunting and a few other places as well.

A buddy guides in K falls for ducks and geese.

He and another guide played around with them quite a bit last season. He flat out told me I simply would not believe how shallow or sloppy they will do fine in. "They will amaze you". Something like" If the water goes over your ankles, you can go forever" And they seem to do OK in weeds and reeds.

Quite a statement from Mike and Mr. Roe.

I am not aware of how they do in big, open water.

Their biggest downfall seems to be tight situations where sharp cornering is mandatory. Timber in one sounds like a nightmare.

But beyond that, it sounds like a toy every duck junkie should have.
