Bowtech Factory!!
I was in Eugene today, with some time to kill, and visited the factory showroom. Pretty sweet, LOTS of bows (all Bowtech of course). Been kind of looking for a bow for the wife, as she's decided I have WAY too much fun by myself . Shot an Extreme VFT....talk about SWEET!! I'd always heard that Bowtech sacrificed shootability for speed..but it was definitely smoother on the draw and the release than my Hoyt (of course, it's a Magnatec, one of their bottom-end models).
Maybe.....I need to get a new bow for me??

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
I spent lots of time shooting different bows and chose a Bowtech Patriot.
I shoot 280 FPS with a 29" draw...and I way outshoot my friends with Mathews and Hoyts. The bow shoots very quietly, with almost now hand-shock.
Bowtech is both a quality bow, and "Made in Oregon" (Big Plus).
Happy Shooting.

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
They had a 2004 model Patriot(which hasn't been released yet), that shot IBO 353fps!! That's a 70lb draw, 30" length, 350gr arrow, through a certified chronograph! I'd never shoot a lightweight arrow like that, but wow, that's cruising.

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
I'm afraid to buy one. Years ago I bought a Golden Eagle and they went out of business. Later I bought an Oregon Bow which I still have, but they, too, went out of business. I'm afraid to buy a Bowtech bow.... :depressed:
As an aside, Popeye's company is machining the risers for them - so it's not only made in Oregon, it's pretty close to the Ifish Family.
I've only heard good things about them.

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
Slammin, I owned an Oneida. The bow was awesome. Trying to find someone to work on it or tune it was a problem. You may have already got these potential problems solved. Just trying to give you a heads up prior to your purchase.

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
Oneida's do shoot fast...but they are very complicated. I have friends that own them and swear by them!
On Target Archery and Sportsmans Warehouse both sell Bowtech in Portland. They also have a Web Site... http://www.bowtecharchery.com/
As for the company reputation, yes, some of the main folks are from the old Oregon Bow Company...by the way, Oregon Bows were awsome in there day.
Bottom line: There are many good bows and good bow companies on the market. Shoot them all and make your choice.
Look at the Renegade Tominator II. Its light, fast, fairly inexpensive... and Ted Nugent shoots it....I suppose he can shoot whatever he wants.
Good luck and Happy Shooting.

Re: Bowtech Factory!!
BTW....prices were about 10% under "regular" prices at the dealers in the PDX area. If I was a dealer, I think I'd be pretty ****ed! Doesn't make sense for a factory store to undercut you.
Kenny Kutch sells Bowtechs (I think), for the 10% difference, it would be worth it for me to go through him!!!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">I always wanted an Oregon bow, but was too poor at the time to buy one. By the time I could afford one they went out of business :depressed: . I need to replace my Martin pro-series soon as it is close to ten years old. It's good to know there is new manufacturer in Oregon, even better an ifish connection. I'll check them out this winter (but only if skein agrees not to buy one ). Maybe Santa will bring me a present with a string on it if I'm good  .
