Default Old Mill Marina

Old Mill has been bought by three local business men and could, maybe, open by this weekend, if not at least by the first of the week. They are sure trying to get it open by the week end, at least for parking. More to come later.

I dont think it has been dreged yet has it? they where planning on doing it last year but never did. I think the dredge is still ther but that can be very very shallow on a low tide! but hey it is a free launch and another parking option which would let off some of the pressure on memloose and the garabladi marina

PM sent.

I look forward to using Old Mill again, I hope the inevitable changes aren't too onerous.

dogfishboy, there is an article at the local online paper naming the new owners. Not sure how they plan on making money with a sales price of $5 million. I am sure it wont be with launch fees.

The story mentions possible major development

Thanks, GK and BOE.

Lets hope they walk the talk and bring the Community along and develop something locals can use too and be proud of. This property has the potential to greatly benefit our community.

Do us good boys!

Yes it is on Tilllamook Bay. Yes they will do what is best for the community. Yes they will be looking at dredging. All three investers are local and caring business men in Tillamook. Doug Rosenberg owner Rosenberg building supply, Bud Geinger farmer and part owner Tillamook Smoker, and Rob Troust realter and developer. Beleive me it is a good thing.

This is good news. It really sucks to have so many boats funnel through the garibaldi marina. I have fond memories of Old Mill. I still have an Old Mill 50# club hat from when I was ten years old. I caught a 54#'er and got the hat free. Ahhh the good old days....

Iagreee! As you are all saying, this is the best news for the North TBay area in years. We were really disappointed when it became "Privitely Owned" a few years back and we were not able to use it. Are they going to eventually open the resturant again?

Hope it gets off the ground. But you make me feel old as I remember when the site was the OW plywood mill and where the docks and mud flats are was a log staging area and my dad towed logs from the Tillamook river to there.

My great uncle was a fireman(he stoked the fire and kept the steam coming)at the mill in the 40's until it shut down. I imagine he shoveled a lot of saw dust into that old stack.
