Default Mossberg shotgun Browning choke?

I have a question for you who are wise in the way of shot guns and multi-chokes.

My shotgun is a Model 1000 Super 12 3inch, Multi-choke Made by Howa in Japan for Mossberg. Mossberg North Haven, CT.

I have a full choke in the gun but wanted to go to a modified so I can hit something. A friend gave me a Browning modified choke and it looks like a perfect match except for the large ID. ie.Modified.

Am I okay using this choke in my gun?

Thanks in advance.

Browning's choke is called an Invector (or Invector Plus) and as far as I know nobody else used them on their guns. I'm pretty sure they're trademarked. I could be wrong, though.

You can always try to install it and see what happens. Just don't try to force it onto the threads, and put a little oil on it. If it goes in clean, seats all the way, and there's no exposed threads in the barrel, you might be OK.

I found the following info on Trulock's websight for interchanges.

Browning Invector: [short tube, approximately 1.5"] interchanges with Trulock’s Win-Brn-Moss style.

Mossberg: [EXCEPT Ultimag 835] interchanges with Trulock’s Win-Brn-Moss style.

Looks like I'm good to go with the invector in my Mossberg.
