CHRIS V THE BEST
I thought I would share again what I have been saying for years about Chris Vertopoulos as a guide and all around great guy. Yesterday, Tuesday I put a crab pot rope into my pump. I called Chris on the phone to see about borrowing his truck to get from Garibaldi back to the Oyster house to get my rig to get the boat onto the trailer to get the shoe off and rope out. Chris said no problem and we met him at the ramp. He said lets put your 19' boat on my 24' trailer. <that really looked funning> and get it done so we could get back to fishing. And thats just what we did. Chris backed in and my son put the boat on his trailer. Chris pulled up and got out of his truck with the wrenchs and started taking the shoe off. I"m sure it didn"t take 10 minutes and we were back in the water getting our pots and fishing again. Thanks so much Chris and also to Garyk who was with you. Great meeting you Gary. These guides on I-fish are the best. By the way my cousin from Calif. caught his first Salmon in 30 years at Bay City. #35+. We also sent him packing with 6 Big crab. Great day for him and us THANKS CHRIS V

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
Outstanding! What a great guy! It's stories like this that keep me coming back to Ifish. Things like this are also what I keep in mind when I'm thinking about booking a guided trip.
Awesome to here about people helping their fellow man!
I've never met Chris, but this story speaks volumes about his character.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
Chris is one of the best pro guides in the Northwest, and yes he can catch fish.
He can also find time to volunteer his time to saving fish and fish habitat.

We were glad to help, and very glad that no damage was done to your pump. Good to meet you and your crew too
As for the fishing, there are three less 'nooks heading toward Memaloose  , and a fourth with a sore jaw.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
I've fished with Chris for a few years now (9+), off and on, and he not only works his tail off to put you on the fish, he knows how and why fish behave in most coditions. He took me fishing when I was going through chemo, years ago, and we slayed them, 5 for 9, 44 to 25, with lice.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
I'd like to chime in real quickly also. I love someone who shows passion for fishing. Someone who is always trying to get better is someone I'd like to stand on the river with. I knew Chris in the early nineties when we both worked at Fisherman's together and Chris was really excited to learn as much as he could and ask as many questions as he could. It sounds like he's never stopped trying to learn about new things and making himself better and ultimately creating a successful guide business. This is humbling. He is a professional, friendly, courteous guy and he is really easy to talk to. These are the things so many guides lack. He catches fish AND he has these other qualities. Thanks to this board, I've recently re-connected with him and I hope to flag him down on the river this year if I see him floating by. It sounds like, by what so many of you have said, he still has these qualities today. Good on ya Chris and stay real. Nice to see good people doing well.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
Wow...its nice to know I have a few friends left . Thanks for all the compliments guys, but I didn't do anything most any other human being wouldn't do. Just helped a guy out, thats all. Anyhow Dave, Im just glad no damage was done to your pump and everything ended up OK. Get that short in your boat fixed though, it will help you to connect more often.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
I can't let the opportunity pass to pig pile on here. Chris V truly is one of best guys I know. I have been lucky enough to get to fish with him a number of times; great fishing, great conversation, and all around superior trips! Your generosity with information has helped me and many an angler into a fish and we are lucky to have you as a member of ifish.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
Good to see a positive post about a guide for a change. In my opinion, guides(good ones) really earn their money. They get little sleep, work very hard, and put up with alot of less than friendly clients. If I was going to fish with a guide I would want it to be someone like Chris.

Re: CHRIS V THE BEST
I have fished with chris this year at bouy 10. Not the best fishing this trip but did get salmon for a friend that went with me. His first ever. He is a great guide and great person. He also showed me how to rig a whole herring.
