Default Gilbert ramp
I was told that the Gilbert ramp road was or will close for bird hunting.

As far as I know the ramp and road stay open. The slough off to the left and I believe the Gilbert river require a duck permit of some kind to boat past a certain point. I'm pretty sure there are other places on the island that you must have duck permits to enter after Nov. 1st. Maybe you should inqire on the hunting board to find out for sure?
