Default Rosa Parks

I read today Rosa Parks has recently passed away. I guess what I’ve admired most about her is the example of an “ordinary” person whose life leads to extraordinary things. It is not always necessary to do great things to do something great. Something as seemly insignificant as not surrendering her seat on the grounds of a fundamental truth in part rallied the Civil Rights movement. Her entire life she never sought the lime-light and the Nations flags may not fly at half-mast for her, but her life made a difference.

I and others here may not impact the Nation as Mrs. Parks called by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. “the mother of the Civil Rights Movement”, but for me it’s yet another reminder of living life as ordinary people in a manner so we too may make a difference.

She was an example of the strength of character that simply refuses to do what we know in our hearts is wrong.

She was, and continues to be, one of my all-time heroes.

Rosa Parks is indeed one of my hero's. Great women in troubled times do make a difference but none in our nations history made a bigger difference.

God Bless Rosa

My 5th grade Daughter just finished a long assingment on Rosa Parks.

With her passing, it is my hope that my Daughter will remember for her lifetime, the efforts and trials of people in search of liberty and justice for all.

We really SHOULD fly the Nations flags at half-staff. She was truly an American hero all dressed up as an ordinary woman. God Speed Ms. Parks, your story will not be forgotten.

Try to explain to your young child or grandchild that at one time people had to give up their seats or drink from a different water fountain than others based on their skin color.

Look at the look of puzzlement in their innocent eyes!

Rosa Parks was certainly a modern day hero.

Great act by a great woman!
The bus company was boycotted for over a year by the blacks after that happened and it put the company into bankruptcy!
God Bless her soul!
To Rosa Parks, one of my favorite American Icons
