cowlitz coho question

Can I use my 12' Klamath to fish the Cowlitz for Cohos? If so, where do I put in and what tackle would you recommend? Would I be able to use my boat on the stretch from blue creek to barrier? Are there any other tribs of the Columbia that would give me a better opportunity to catch cohos with my boat? I realize that I am new and haven't contributed much thus far, but I love to fish and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, salmonstalker. Welcome from another newbie! I never fished the Cowlitz. You might use the Ifish Search tool. Type in Cowlitz and you'll find some very good stuff from past posts. In fact, I think there were some posts on the Cowlitz within the last month or so.

Want to hear something funny? Last time we went out to the mouth of the Cowlitz,we couldn't keep the cohos, so we fished for steelies with light weight tackle & spinners and we caught and released five that day,no fish home and chili dogs for dinner..true story.. added some scent to the spinner also we did do that, but nothing else,these fish are so fincky..lol good luck on the Cowlitz we like going out there. :smile:
