Default Any Glue Aficionados out there (PVC to TIN)

I need to glue some PVC to a tin shed. The conditions are cool and damp so keep that in mind. I looked at the Gorilla stuff but I don't think that would work.

Tank ya berry much

one problem w/glue and plastic is the thermal expantion and contraction ploymers exibit when the temp fluctuates this slight movement(exassperated by long lenghts of plastic)over time will cause the addhetion to fail. If you can ruff the surface of the pvc and try a flexable adhesive like silicone caulking. if epoxy or super glue dont work try the silicone like stuff used to glue tile. pvc glues to itself cause it sort of melts together when you put glue on it.

I know about plastic not glue.

We use a urethane adhesive product made by Bostik called FS-1100. It's a one part, high strength urethane that works well on plastic, metal, concrete block, brick and just about everything else. It's a little spendy, around $4.25 for a 10 oz tube, but it works well. It can be purchased in the Portland area and if you need the name of the place that sells it and many other types of adhesive items, send me a pm and I would be happy to get the phone number for you.

Good luck!

Hey Bobby are you going to put this stuff on the roof? Is it a PVC sheet membrane or a rigid pipe? If its a sheet of plyable membrane:
Gorilla expands like you wouldnt believe...not a good idea.
Go to any of the many commercial roofing supply stores and ask them for some PVC adhesive. Polyvinyl resists a lot of solvents and to get the best adhesion, you need a solvent base to soften the material. The two most common adhesives for PVC have a xylene base, or an MEK base...but an option would be to wash the PVC membrane with xylene (use PVC gloves!) and then apply the one part contact adhesive found in most hardware stores...I think its called "weldwood" ...black and red one gallon cans for about 12 bucks. Apply the glue to both the PVC and the tin in an even coat avoiding puddles or heavy spots (which form gasses and create bubbles) let both the tin and the PVC dry completely and then give it another coat. When it "flashes" (dry but tacky...) stick it together.
On a roof or walls, its best to lay out the sheet and cut it to fit..and nail it with two nails in the middle of oposite edges so you can fold back half the sheet, wash it and glue it...and then fold back the other half of the sheet and do the same. Be warned, once the stuff is stuck, its stuck! good luck. If theres screw or nail heads you need to glue over...put a glob of caulking over them and let it dry.

If your glueing PVC pipe to tin..I have no idea what would work for you in the way of glue...post some details of what it is your trying to accomplish.
